How to Change the Computer Name in Windows Server 2025

This guide will walk you through the process of changing the computer name in Windows Server 2025.

In the Server Manager, go to Local Server. You will see the current computer name.

Click on the current Computer Name to open the System Properties window.

In the System Properties window, click on the Change... button.

In the Computer Name/Domain Changes window, enter the new computer name.

Click OK to confirm the new name.

A prompt will appear informing you that a restart is required. Click OK.

Then, click Close in the System Properties window.

Finally, click Restart Now to apply the changes.

Once the server reboots, log back in with your administrator account.
